We were concerned by the very sad news coming from Japan during the last week end. The consequences are significant for all the Japanese people, either on the human side, or on economy issues, and on public health. The whole Lerins monks Community joins me to send you our moral support and encouragement, in order to face with bravery the starting difficult period. Our prayers will be with you day after day, might they grant your wishes of appeasement and reassurance, during such an event.

It is with dismay that I experienced the earthquake on Friday, March 11 in Japan while I was attending the Kuran-no SAITEN 2011 Vinos Yamazaki Then, the magnitude and horror of the tragedy caused by the giant tsunami have been revealed. The risk of radioactive pollution was added to all these anxieties. Since my return to France, my mind and my heart live, for Japan, for his people that I admire the courage and for which I feel so close I want to express my personal compassion to such a disaster and my solidarity with the Japanese population I would be grateful to convey my condolences to the families of victims

私自身、ヴィノスやまざき蔵の祭典2011に参加している際に大地震を経験し、未だに呆然としています。この大きな地震は巨大な津波を引き起こしました。また、放射能汚染の危険性は更に不安を増長させました。フランスに帰国して以来、私の心と思いは日本の人々と共にあります。私の賞賛する勇気ある日本の人々と。私はこのような未曾有の大災害に直面した日本の方々への深い悲しみと共に心痛める気持ちを表します。また、犠牲になられた方とその後家族の皆様に心よりのお悔やみを申し上げます。
皆さんのために祈ります。

Nous sommes tres touches par ces terribles evenements qui touchent le Japon et nous vous temoignons notre soutien si petit qu'il soit. Nous esperons que ces catastrophes ne s'empirent pas et que des solutions soient trouvees afin que le Japon puisse se reconstruire meme si beaucoup de familles ont tout perdues, mais votre pays possede une force et serenite incroyable.

Le JAPON, pays de culture, d'art ,de traditions millenaires, dont les habitants sont d'une grande courtoisie, toute empreinte de respect et de serenite, est aujourd'hui touche par une terrible epreuve, que ce peuple ne meritais pas; mais la terre et la nature provoquent parfois des rendez-vous non souhaites, mais contre lesquels, malheureusement, nous ne pouvons pas agir et que l'impuissance rend encore plus insupportables. Nous sommes persuades que le JAPON, pays du soleil levant, se relevera de cette catastrophe et que de nouveau, un jour, l'astre solaire brillera sur le mont FUJI.
大変礼儀正しい国民性、千年の伝統と文化と芸術、尊敬と趣きのある日本国、人々が予想できなかった恐ろしい出来事は日本国民に値しない衝撃を与えました。しかし、地球と自然は時に望んでもいないものを引き起こします。そしてそれは残念なことに、私たちが防ぐことが出来ず、無力さにさらに耐えられなくなります。
